Building Capacity in Local Communities
The Regional Resource Hub is a leadership and capacity-building project in the tri-state that will implement research and initiatives in workforce development, resilience planning, and internet connectivity.

The Regional Resource Hub helps communities…
- Prepare for severe weather conditions in the Resilient Communities program, which will expand to support 10 communities.
- Connect residents to essential digital skills training through Tech Goes Home, which will expand into northeast Alabama and northwest Georgia as a result of this project.
- Prepare students for the careers of tomorrow by bringing a logistics and supply chain management curriculum to a secondary or higher education institution near you.
- Plan for growth with access to an interdisciplinary geospatial data platform.

Any municipality or county within the tri-state, 16-county region in Thrive’s footprint is eligible to participate in this capacity-building initiative.
Organizations that participate in programs such as Resilient Communities and Tech Goes Home include, but are not limited to, local governments, local businesses, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and engaged residents.

This project is supported in part by a $2.87 million federal grant awarded to Thrive Regional Partnership by the Appalachian Regional Commission under the Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE) which drives large-scale, regional economic transformation through collaborative projects.
Thrive and its partners are bringing $2,256,969 in match funding to this project, for a total project cost of $5.1 million over the next five years.
