Position Summary
Thrive is a fast-paced organization with an innovative culture seeking a full-time Regional Outreach Liaison to join its multi-disciplinary team under the Chief Communications Officer. The Liaison fosters partnerships, builds relationships, and advances initiatives across the tri-state, greater Chattanooga region. This role engages with local governments, community stakeholders, nonprofits, and private sector partners to enhance regional connectivity, resilience, and economic vitality. The Liaison serves as a primary point of contact, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and identifying opportunities to address regional needs. Responsibilities include attending/coordinating events, workshops, and presentations to promote awareness of current initiatives and resources, as well as advance Thrive’s mission by deepening relationships across the region.
In addition to external engagement, the Regional Outreach Liaison works closely with internal teams to implement outreach strategies for specific programs and initiatives. The Liaison gathers community feedback, monitors emerging trends, and provides data-driven insights to support the development and improvement of initiatives. Success in this role requires exceptional interpersonal skills and an understanding of regional dynamics. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about making a meaningful impact through collaborative regional efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide outreach and engagement support to effectively implement major regional initiatives of Thrive Regional Partnership.
- Serve as a liaison between Thrive and community stakeholders, building strong relationships and acting as a professional representative of the organization throughout the region.
- Coordinate and facilitate outreach efforts, including meetings and community events, to advance Thrive’s goal of increasing collaboration with communities across the region.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, identify shared priorities, and support the timely achievement of initiative milestones.
- Monitor, track, and assess community engagement activities, identifying challenges and proposing solutions to enhance outreach effectiveness and maintain momentum.
- Conduct on-site visits and community meetings to build trust, ensure alignment with project goals, and understand local needs and opportunities.
- Prepare and maintain outreach materials and documentation, such as stakeholder correspondence, engagement reports, and project updates.
- Stay informed on emerging opportunities and trends relevant to regional priorities, sharing insights to support program development and long-term success.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Thrive’s mission and ensure impactful community partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
- College degree in Public Administration, Community Development, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience in outreach, community engagement, or stakeholder coordination, preferably within a regional, nonprofit, or public-sector environment.
- Knowledge of regional planning, placemaking, and cultural diversity, with an understanding of the unique dynamics within rural, suburban, and urban communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, build consensus, and foster partnerships.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a professional attitude and ability to represent the organization in public forums.
- Proficiency in collaborative work platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, and project management tools.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility to legally work in the U.S., with the ability to travel regionally as required.
